IRAQ – packing & dispatch

Within such a short time scale it was impossible to set up automated picking and packing lines, so human chains ran concurrently to fill the 7000 boxes with 168,000 separate items as diverse as crowd control tape to batteries and torches. Industrial clingfilm for waterproofing pallets and package strapping was used in abundance and the warehouse, various adjoining yards and every available space was over-flowing with 130 tonnes of goods packed in bulk – ready to go!

So with the boxes successfully filled, packed on pallets and labelleda total of 454 – they were loaded into containers and transported to Shanghai Airport for their onward journey to Baghdad.
