IRAQ – planning
Each kit was to contain 24 different items in varying quantities and LGS team members visited each supplier to discuss product specifications, production arrangements, delivery and packing. All items were purchased in bulk and delivered to a receiving warehouse which LGS had set up close to supplier sources. Some kits required LGS to set up separate lines of activity – with individual flow charts detailing each kit variation and its contents – everything from the arrival of goods through to dispatching labelled kits on pallets. To carry out this substantial workload in the shortest possible time, a combined team of LGS management and staff from its partner company in Nanjing was formed to make a 96 strong workforce! Their role was to collate, label and pack the kits over the Christmas and New Year period.
